  • Joe explores Commonwealth Games bid for Liverpool City Region

    Joe has announced plans to explore the possibility of a Commonwealth Games bid for the Liverpool City Region.

    In a letter written to Culture Secretary John Whittingdale, Mayor Anderson revealed he wanted the City Region to follow recent British hosts Manchester and Glasgow in staging the event in 10 years’ time.

    Mayor Anderson has made it one of his ambitions to look into the possibility of Liverpool as a host city.

    He said: “I have no doubt that Liverpool City Region could host a very successful Commonwealth Games. It would be fantastic to stage such a global event and I am confident we could do it.
